SPENCER, Ia. (AP)-- Daniel Conklin of Montclair, N.J., a student at the Army
Flying School here, and instructor F. D. Evans of Des Moines were killed
yesterday in the crash of a training plane.

Conklin was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley H. Conklin of 63 Elm Street,
Montclair. He was 21 years old and was inducted into service May 10. He was
a graduate of Henry B. Whitehorne High School, Verona, where the Conklins
lived until recently. He had been employed at Woolworth's Montclair store.
