| Verona Seabee Dies After Heart Attack Carpenter's Mate 2/c George Schiabor, Verona Seabee home on leave after a year overseas, collapsed Saturday afternoon while watching a football game with his children and died soon after in Mountainside Hospital. He was 38. Mr. Schiabor returned from Service in France October 29 and was spending his leave at his home, 328 Bloomfield Avenue. Saturday he took his children George, 15 and Dolores, 13, to the Verona High School football game at Passaic Valley High School, Little Falls. He collapsed of a heart attack while watching the game and was taken to the hospital by the Little Falls Rescue Squad. A Native of New York, Mr. Schiabor grew up in Verona. He lived a few years in Cedar Grove, moving back to Verona five years ago. Mr. Schiabor enlisted in the Seabees in March, 1943. Previously he had been employed as a bartender at the Loop Tavern in Caldwell. Besides his children he leaves his wife, Mrs. Frances Schiabor; his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. John Pastrovitch of Verona. Newark Evening News November 7, 1944 |
